There is Monday night football action in the Premier League as Marco Silva’s current side Everton take on his previous club Watford at Goodison Park. The match kicks off at 8pm and it is live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League. Here are the factz you need to know:

  • Everton have an amazing record against Watford at Goodison Park – they have won 11 of the 12 matches they have played against them in all competitions.
  • The Toffees are in decent form – two wins, two draws and one defeat in their last 5 matches.
  • Watford are out of form, having lost their last 3 PL matches and only won 2 of their last 11, having opened up the season with 4 straight wins. Despite this, a win will take them level on points with Everton.
  • Richarlison is Everton’s top scorer with 7 goals in 13 appearances this season – two more than he scored for Watford in the entirety of last season.
  • Goal scoring is one of Watford’s main problems – they have scored just 9 in their last 11 matches.

Barcelona interested in Everton star Richarlison

Richarlison has been a stand-out performer for Everton this season and it has been reported that Barcelona are considering making a bid for him.

Brazilian Richarlison joined the Toffees from Watford last summer in a £50 million deal. The transfer reunited him with Marco Silva, who signed him for the Hornets in 2017.

While eyebrows were raised over the size of the fee, he has hit the ground running at Goodison Park, scoring 7 goals in 13 matches for Everton.

This form has aroused the interest of Spanish giants Barcelona, according to The Daily Star. They are looking for cover – and potentially an eventual replacement for – Luis Suarez who is 32 and has ongoing knee problems.

While Barca have been linked with other stars, such as Atletico Madrid’s French star Antoine Griezmann and PSG’s Kylian Mbappe, Richarlison is likely to come a lot cheaper.

However, cheaper is relative as Everton would want to make a substantial profit on a player they only signed in the summer, is on a long-term deal and, at 21, is yet to hit the peak of his career.
