Alll the factz on the December 14 3pm kick offs in the Premier League

There are four matches kicking off at 3pm in the Premier League today, with interest at both ends of the table.

As always in the UK, none of the matches are live on TV but you can follow the action on local and national radio, as well as various TV results services.

Here are the factz you need to know:

Burnley v Newcastle United

* Newcastle did the double over the Clarets last season.
* Burnley’s easily season form seems to have evaporated: they’ve lost 6 of their last 8 matches.
* Meanwhile Newcastle have won 4 of their last 6 PL matches, losing once.
* Sean Dyche has called on just 19 players in the league this season.

* Newcastle are the only Premier League side yet to be awarded a penalty this season. Not getting penalties was a traditional gripe for Dyche.

Chelsea v AFC Bournemouth

* Chelsea won this fixture 2-0 last season. However, the Cherries won the return match 4-0.
* After a good run, Chelsea have lost 3 of their last 4 matches.
* But Bournemouth are on an even worse run – they’ve lost 5 consecutive Premier League matches.
* Chelsea have yet to gain a point after going behind this season.

* Set pieces are Bournemouth’s strength – they’ve scored 9 so far this season from deadball situations.

Leicester City v Norwich City

* Leicester are in amazing form – they’ve won their last 8 PL matches, scoring at least twice in each game.
* Jamie Vardy has also scored in every one of those matches. He once scored in 11 straight matches back in 2015.
* Meanwhile Norwich are on a run of 1 win in 11 with 8 defeats in that sequence.
* The Canaries have also conceded at least twice in 13 of their 16 matches this season.

* Leicester have conceded just 10 goals this season – the best record in the division.

Sheffield United v Aston Villa

* When the sides met last season in the Championship both were goal fests: in this fixture, United ran out 4-1 winners. In the return, the Blades were 0-3 up with 10 minutes to go, but Villa staged an amazing comeback to draw 3-3.

* United have lost just one of their last 9 PL matches, although they have drawn 5 in that run.
* Villa have lost 5 of their last 7 matches, but in that run they have played all of the current top 6.
* Only Leicester and Liverpool have a better defensive record than Sheffield United in the PL this season.
* Getting a lead isn’t Villa’s problem – it’s keeping it. They’ve lost 13 points from winning positions so far this season.

The final match of this round of Premier League fixtures sees Sheffield United take on Arsenal at Bramall Lane.

Sheffield United want a win to put some distance between themselves and the relegation zone – they are currently one point above it. Meanwhile a win for Arsenal will take them back into the Champions League spots.

The match kicks off at 8pm and it is live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League. Here are the factz you need to know:

* This is the first league meeting between the sides since 2006. They have met twice in the League Cup since then, with Arsenal running out comfortable winners on both occasions.
* United are slow starters – they’ve scored just one goal before half time this season.
* Arsenal have kept just two clean sheets away from home in their last 23 matches.
* The Blades have kept 24 clean sheets since the start of last season – more than any other side in the top 4 divisions in England.
* If Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scores for Arsenal, it will be his 50th goal for the club in all competitions in just 75 appearances.

There are six matches kicking off at 3pm in the Premier League today. 

It’s still early days in the season, but momentum is important and banking early points can be vital at both ends of the table.

Here are the factz you need to know:

Chelsea v Sheffield United
* Sheffield United haven’t won at Stamford Bridge since October 1992 – the inaugural season of the Premier League.
* Chelsea haven’t failed to score in a match against Sheffield United at home since 1922.
* Chelsea’s win last weekend was just their second in 8 matches.
* The Blues are unbeaten in their last 10 home matches, winning 6 of those.

* Sheffield United have lost just 1 of their last 10 League matches – but that defeat came last time out.

Crystal Palace v Aston Villa

* Villa won the last time the sides met in 2016 – one of only 3 wins that season for the Midlands side.
* Palace are one of the PL’s in form sides, accruing 30 points since February. Only Liverpool and Manchester City have won more.
* That said, they have only won 2 of their last 8 home matches, losing 3.
* Villa haven’t won on the road in the PL in their last 19 matches.

* Palace’s forward line of Jordan Ayew and Christian Benteke scored 49 PL goals between them for Villa.

Leicester City v AFC Bournemouth 

* Last season Leicester best Bournemouth 2-0 at the King Power Stadium. The Cherries prevailed 4-2 at the Vitality Stadium.
* The Cherries haven’t won at Leicester since 1988 when both sides were in the old Division 2 (now Championship).
* Leicester have won 4 and drawn 4 of their last 10 PL matches.
* Bournemouth have lost 5 of their last 10 PL matches, winning 3.

* The Foxes have won 4 of their last 7 PL home matches, losing just 1.

Manchester City v Brighton & Hove Albion

* City have done the double over Brighton for the past two seasons, and beat them in the FA Cup semi-final last season.
* City have won 16 of their last 17 PL matches.
* Brighton have won 2 of their 4 matches in all competitions this season.
* City have scored in 25 consecutive matches.

* The Seagulls have scored in 5 of their last 6 matches.

Newcastle United v Watford

* Newcastle took a 1-0 win last season against Watford. It ended 1-1 in the return match at Vicarage Road.
* The Magpies have lost 3 of their last 4 PL matches at St James’s Park, but did win the other.
* Watford have had an awful start to the season – they are the only side without a point so far in the PL. They have lost their last 6 in all.
* The Hornets haven’t kept a clean sheet in 18 matches, conceding 41 goals in that run.

* The all-time record between the sides is tight – in 45 meetings, Watford have won 16, Newcastle 15.

West Ham United v Norwich City

* West Ham have a great recent record against Norwich – they’ve won 4 and drawn 6 of their last 11 meetings.
* The Hammers have won two matches in a week, but have yet to keep a clean sheet this season.
* Expect goals – Norwich haven’t kept a clean sheet in their last 10 matches in all competitions.
* Teemu Pukki is the man West Ham need to stop – he has 5 goals so far this season.
* West Ham have 4 points – more than they’ve scored in August in any of the past 5 seasons.

The first match in the Premier League today is Sheffield United taking on Crystal Palace at Brammall Lane. 

This is Sheffield United’s first home fixture of the season and the ground is sure to be rocking. Both sides will go into the match thinking they can win.

The match kicks off at 2pm and it is live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League. Here are the factz you need to know:

* This is the first meeting between the sides for 8 years and first in the top flight since 1992/3.
* Sheffield United have lost just one match in their last 19, with 11 wins in that run.
* Meanwhile Palace will be hoping to continue their great away form from last season – they won 5 of their last 6 away from Selhurst Park.
* The Eagles have scored 20 goals on the road this year – only Manchester City have sores more in the PL.
* Since Chris Wilder was appointed manager of the Blades in 2016, only Manchester City and Luton Town have won more points.

All the factz on the August 10 3pm kick-offs in the Premier League

There are just four Saturday 3pm kick offs in the opening weekend of the Premier League. But there will be plenty of action and intrigue as there will be plenty of debutants looking to make themselves instant heroes for their new teams. 

Here are the factz you need to know:

AFC Bournemouth v Sheffield United 

* This is the first top-flight meeting between the sides. They have faced off in each of the other three divisions over the years.

* Bournemouth haven’t beaten Sheffield United since 1988 – although this is their first meeting since 2013.
* Cherries boss Eddie Howe will hope to have fixed his side’s defensive problems that saw the side concede 16 goals in their last 8 PL matches of the 2018/19 season.
* On their way to automatic promotion last season, United lost just 1 of their last 18 matches, winning 11.
* United also have English football’s current top marksman – Billy Sharp has scored 218 goals since the start of 2005/6.

Burnley v Southampton 

* Last season’s two fixtures ended all square -0-0 at Turf Moor and 1-1 at St Mary’s.

* Burnley manager Sean Dyche will be hoping for better home form this season – they lost 10 matches at Turf Moor last season.
* Saints will be looking to continue their improvement from the latter half of last season. They have won just 16 matches in the past two PL seasons.
* Burnley will be looking to share the goals around more this season – Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood scored 48.9% of their PL goals in 2018/19.
* Saints’ new striker Che Adams – one of his middle names is Everton – scored 22 goals in 46 Championship games for Birmingham City last season.

Crystal Palace v Everton

* It ended 0-0 between these sides at Selhurst Park last season. Everton took a 2-0 win over the Eagles at Goodison Park.
* Everton have a great record against Palce recently, losing just one of their last 9 meetings.
* Palace weren’t great at home last season, taking just 20 points – only Huddersfield won fewer on their own turf.
* The Toffees will be looking to take their form for the end of last season into this. They won 21 points in their last 11 PL matches in 2018/19.
* Roy Hodgson celebrated his 72nd birthday last week, and is the oldest person to take charge of a PL match.

Watford v Brighton & Hove Albion

* Brighton have yet to beat Watford in the PL – there have been two draws and two wins for the Hornets.
* Watford will be hoping to have solved their defensive problems from last season – they conceded in each of their last 15 games last season.
* Brighton failed to win any of their last 9 PL matches – losing 6.
* Watford will be looking to better their 11th place of last season when they scored 50 points – their best finish in the PL era.
* The Seagulls aren’t great away from home – they’ve won just 5 times on the road in their two PL seasons.
