Gareth Bale wants Premier League return if he leaves Real Madrid

Welsh wing wizard Gareth Bale has said that if he leaves Real Madrid this summer he wants to move back to the Premier League.

This news – reported in The Mirror – will come as a boost to Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho, who is believed to want to bring the midfielder to Old Trafford.

But it will be a blow to German champions Bayern Munich, who were thought to be lining the 28-year-old up as a replacement for ageing stars Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery.

However, Bale’s fate remains undecided as they search for a new manager following Zinedine Zidane’s shock departure.

Bale is said to have made it clear he intended to leave Real – despite winning his third Champions League title in a row – this summer some weeks ago. He hadn’t been a regular starter under Zidane and is believed to want to move on to get more game time.

But any potential move is off until a new manager is installed and has made his plans clear. Plus, he will cost a heavy fee – maybe up to £175 million, according to some reports, which would put off many potential suitors.
