Italian giants Juventus and Napoli are set for a battle to sign Tottenham Hotspur’s our-of-favour right-back Kieran Trippier.

The Daily Mirror has reported that new Juve boss Maurizio Sarri has identified Trippier as one of his first signings for the perennial Serie A champions. It is thought he was impressed by him when he was boss of Chelsea.

Napoli have previously been reported to be interested in the 28-year-old and are thought to have already opened talks with the player and his representatives.

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has indicated he would be prepared to sell Trippier for the right price – thought to be about £28 million – as he has cover at the position. French international Serge Aurier and promising home-grown player Kyle Walker-Peters are both vying for the right-back position.

Trippier could be tempted by a move to Italy. Both sides are in next season’s Champions League, although an extra pull to Juventus could be the presence of former Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey.

Manchester United have £40 million bid for Crystal Palace ace Aaron Wan-Bissaka rejected

Crystal Palace have rejected a £40 million bid for their star right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, according to reports.

Wan-Bissaka enjoyed a breakthrough season for the Eagles in 2018/19, making the right-back spot his own and making 39 appearances in all competitions. He has also been a regular in the England under-21 squad.

United have long been thought to have an interest in Wan-Bissaka. They are in the market for a right-back to replace the ageing Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia.

However, United’s bid falls well short of what the Eagles want for their star, who is contracted to the club until 2022. Sky Sports News says that Palace bosses are holding out for £60 million for him.

Whether United come in with a higher bid – or if Palace will lowers their demands – remains to be seen.

Other potential options for United include Tottenham Hotspur’s Kieran Trippier, who is seemingly out of favour under Mauricio Pochettino. He could be available for transfer, although other clubs would no doubt be interested.
