Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard is set to move to Real Madrid this summer with a deal close to being finalised, according to reports.

Hazard has been a target for Madrid for some time, but interest was stepped up when Zinedine Zidane came back to the manager’s seat earlier in the year.

Zidane made signing the Belgian a priority and it appears he is going to get his wish, according to Spanish newspaper Marca.

They report that Madrid, Hazard and Chelsea have been secretly working on the terms of a deal for months and that terms are close to being agreed and a deal could be announced within days.

Hazard has made no secret of his admiration for Madrid and desire to play at the Bernabeau one day. He has also expressed frustration at Chelsea’s ambition and failure to challenge for the Premier League or Champions League titles.

Chelsea will not want to lose one of their stars but will likely receive a fee in the region of £100 million for him. There are also signs the club has been preparing for Hazard’s departure with the signing of Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund.

Real Madrid plot sensational summer swap deal for Chelsea’s Eden Hazard with Gareth Bale

Real Madrid could try to tempt Chelsea into selling their star forward Eden Hazard by offering them Gareth Bale as part of the deal, according to reports.

Hazard has been on Real’s wish list for some time. Now Zinedine Zidane is back as manager of Los Blancos then their interest could increase. Real president Florentino Perez is also said to have promised Zidane a war chest of £300 million to revamp the squad this summer.

By the same token, several players could be heading out of the Bernabeu this summer. Gareth Bale is thought to be one of those, given his fractious relationship with Zidane and the Madrid fans. His recent injury record doesn’t help either.

With Chelsea rumoured to be interested in signing Bale, a swap deal could be an agreeable option for all parties.

Chelsea will want more than £100 million for Hazard, while Real will want about £75 million for Bale – who turns 30 later this year. It also has to be factored in that Bale earns about £11 million per year.

However, whether Bale would want to leave Real is another matter. He has previously said he is happy in the Spanish capital.

In addition, other clubs, including Manchester United, May be interested in signing Bale.

Real Madrid keen to sign Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Christian Eriksen this summer

Real Madrid are monitoring the contract situation of Christian Eriksen at Tottenham Hotspur ahead of a potential bid for the influential midfielder in the summer.

Eriksen, 27, is about to enter the final year of his deal at Spurs, with little sign that he will sign a new contract any time soon. If that is the case, the club is likely to want to sell him this summer, rather than lose him for nothing in 2020.

If that is the case, there will be no shortage of suitors for the Danish International. Real Madrid have been linked with a bid for some time and are expected to have a major overhaul of playing staff over the summer. Eriksen would seem to fit the bill as an attacking midfielder, although whether they bid for him may depend on whether they bid for Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard or not. Real have long been linked with Hazard as well and he is expected to be a target in the summer.

Doubtless other top clubs around Europe would be interested too. Spurs may also prefer to sell Eriksen to a European club, rather than a direct rival in the Premier League.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy would not let Eriksen leave on the cheap – he is famed for driving a hard bargain – so it would likely take a bid of £75 million at least to tempt the club into selling.

Eriksen joined Spurs in 2013 from Ajax, and since then has made 198 Premier League appearances, scoring 46 goals.

Real Madrid plan world record summer bid for Paris St-Germain star Neymar

Spanish giants Real Madrid are planning to make a world record bid this summer for Paris St-Germain star Neymar, according to reports.

Madrid are known to be planning to rebuild their squad this summer after a mediocre – by their standards – La Liga season. Los Blancos are are looking for a major marquee signing to replace Cristiano Ronaldo, who left for Juventus in a £99 million deal last summer. Neymar would fit the bill and is apparently top of Madrid’s shopping list, according to The Sun.

Neymar moved to PSG from Barcelona in the summer of 2017 for a world record £198 million fee. While he has been successful on the pitch, he has suffered a number of injuries and there have been constant rumours that the Brazilian international is not happy in Paris and would like to move back to Spain.

However, if Neymar were to move, then PSG would likely want another world record fee for him. Neymar is 27, so is in the peak years of his career, plus his contract with PSG runs until 2022 – and that’s before you take into account his commercial value. But that wouldn’t put Madrid off – they have deep enough pockets to pay such a fee.

But if the move were to happen, it could hasten the departure of other players from the Bernabeau as Madrid may look to balance the books. Gareth Bale, for one, could be allowed to leave and would still bring in a hefty fee.

Madrid may face competition for his signing though. Barcelona have been rumoured to be interested in re-signing their former player, despite the fractious nature of his departure two summers ago.

If Madrid did move for Neymar, it might also mean they do not pursue Chelsea’s Eden Hazard – another player they are known to be interested in signing.

Real Madrid confident of landing £100 million deal for Chelsea’s Eden Hazard this summer

Spanish giants Real Madrid are increasingly confident that they can secure a deal to sign Chelsea star Eden Hazard this summer as the player says he has decided on his future.

Real have been interested in Hazard for some time but have had to be patient as the player has maintained his loyalty to Chelsea. But Real see the Belgian as a crucial part of the major squad rebuild that is expected this summer after a mediocre – by their standards – 2018/19 season.

In a new interview with RMC, Hazard says he has made a decision on his future. But, tantalisingly, he doesn’t say what it is. However, in the past he has spoken of his admiration for and desire to play for Real Madrid one day and that if Chelsea didn’t show the sort of ambition he has, he would leave.

Also this season, he has appeared to have a fractious relationship with Blues Manager Maurizio Sarri. Sarri has publicly criticised Hazard, saying he is “not a leader”. In response, Hazard says he doesn’t listen to what his managers say.

While Chelsea remain keen to tie Hazard to a new deal, talks with him remain deadlocked. This is raising fears that Hazard does not want to sign and may be on his way this summer.

Hazard’s form on this pitch this season has been good and he has scored 16 goals, despite not always playing in his favoured position. However, Chelsea’s form has stuttered recently and they are fighting for a spot in the Champions League next season with Arsenal and a rejuvenated Manchester United.

Madrid believe that a £100 million bid might be enough to secure a deal, given he will only have a year left on his deal come the summer.
