Ligue Un champions Paris St-Germain have made Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea one of their top summer transfer targets.
PSG are in the market as they want a replacement for veteran stopper Gianluigi Buffon.
The Daily Star reports that the Qatari-backed club are willing to offer de Gea a contract worth £450,000 per week – more than doubling his Manchester United pay packet.
De Gea’s future at Old Trafford is uncertain. His current deal expires in June 2020 and despite months of negotiations between the club and his representatives no new deal has been signed.
This means that he could leave for nothing at the end of next season, so if no deal is in sight, United could decide to cash in on the 28-year-old.
Of course, with only a relatively short time until his deal expires, United could not charge his full market value. This has put PSG on alert and they could tempt United with a £50 million bid.
Of course, other clubs are also interested in the player. Real Madrid have had an interest in him for what seems like forever and could bid, especially as Thibault Coutois has not had a stellar season. Juventus and Borussia Dortmund are also thought to be monitoring de Gea’s situation.
Whether de Gea stays could also be influenced by whether United are playing Champions League football or not next season. They are currently in 6th place, 3 points behind Chelsea in 4th – the final Champions League spot – with 2 matches remaining.
European giants Manchester United and Real Madrid are set for a battle to sign £100 million-rates Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho this summer.
Sancho has established himself as one of the most promising talents in Europe this season, scoring 11 goals and providing 13 assists for Dortmund in the Bundesliga this season. In addition, the 19-year-old has broken into Gareth Southgate’s England side.
United have been linked with Sancho for some time and have been thought to be lining up a bid for when the transfer window reopens.
However, now Real are also interested in Sancho, according to the Independent. Manager Zinedine Zidane is widely expected to conduct a major rebuild of Los Blancos squad this season after a mediocre – by their standards – season.
Neither side would baulk at paying out £100 million, but with both sides interested it could result in a bidding war – which would no doubt please Dortmund bosses, who are known for selling if the price is right.
It is not thought likely that Sancho’s former club, Manchester City, would come in for him.
Manchester United and Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea’s teenage age Callum Hudson-Odoi, joining Bayern Munich and other German clubs.
Reports say that Hudson-Odoi still wants to leave Chelsea. He had a transfer request rejected in January but, frustrated at a continuing lack of game time, he still feels his future lies away from Stamford Bridge.
If that is the case, then top European clubs are lining up to sign him. Bayern Munich were thought to be at the top of the queue, having made a £35 million bid for the 18-year-old in January. While they are thought to be planning another bid, they now have competition from Manchester United and Barcelona, according to The Daily Mail.
In addition, German sides Red Bull Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund are also reportedly interested in Hudson-Odoi . Dortmund may make a move if Jadon Sancho is sold, with United reportedly interested in him as well.
However, Chelsea do not want Hudson-Odoi to leave and have offered him an improved deal worth a rumoured £80,000 a week. This could be especially important if a transfer ban for the next 2 windows is upheld – the club are currently appealing the decision.
Ultimately, where Hudson-Odoi stays or goes may depend on whether he is given an extended run in the Chelsea first-team or not. This far, boss Maurizio Sarri has shown little inclination to do this. Indeed, the player made his full England debut before his full Premier League debut this week.
Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund are lining up Chelsea forward Callum Hudson-Odoi as a replacement for Jadon Sancho if they sell him to Manchester United this summer.
Dortmund have put a £100 million price tag on Sancho, with Manchester United rumoured to be keen on bringing him back to the city.
The German club have shown previously that if a club offers the right price, they will sell star players.
Sancho has been a revelation this season for Dortmund, becoming a fixture in the side and putting in a series of impressive displays domestically and in Europe. He has also broken into the England squad.
If Sancho is sold, then The Mirror has reported that Dortmund are lining up Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi as a replacement.
Hudson-Odoi is very highly rated, and was called up to the England squad this week by Gareth Southgate.
However, he is yet to start a Premier League game for Chelsea and is frustrated at his lack of game time. Indeed, he put in a transfer request in January, which was rejected.
But Dortmund would face competition for Hudson-Odoi from German rivals Bayern Munich. Bayern made a £35 million bid for the 18-year-old in January and are thought to be preparing another bid in the summer. Red Bull Leipzig are also thought to be interested.
Chelsea may also be reluctant to sell, as they currently face a transfer ban for the next two transfer windows and will not want to lose players – even if it means they could lose him for nothing in 2020 when Hudson-Odoi’s contract expires.
Manchester United look set to press ahead with an £80 million move for Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho this summer, according to reports.
Sancho has been a standout performer for Dortmund this year, producing a string of impressive displays and goals in the Bundesliga and Champions League. He has managed to keep more established players, such as Christian Pulisic, on the bench.
Inevitably, this has led to rumours of other clubs looking to sign the England player in the summer. The rumour about United’s interest first surfaced some weeks ago, but it is continuing to gain traction.
The Independent is the latest to report United’s interest, saying that an £80 million bid is on the cards. It is thought Sancho fits the ethos of buying young talent in, and he would provide competition for the likes of Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford.
Any such move would also likely hasten Alexis Sanchez’s departure from Old Trafford. The Chilean has struggled since he joined in January 2018, and could be allowed to leave, either on a permanent or season-long loan.
However, whether Sancho would come is open to question. He is enjoying life in Germany and may decide that another year starting regularly in the Bundesliga might be the best thing for his development.
History shows that while Dortmund may not want to sell, if the price is right they will do a deal.
