A host of clubs, including Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Paris St-Germain are monitoring Anthony Martial’s situation at Manchester United with talk that he is frustrated and could push for a move away this summer.
France international Martial is reported unhappy with the amount of game time he is getting at United. He has been in and out of Jose Mourinho’s side this season, and with the signing of Alexis Sanchez in January, his opportunities have been more limited.
Despite this, the 22-year-old has scored 11 goals and provided 10 assists in all competitions this season.
Should Martial push for a move, then a host of clubs would be interested in signing him. From the Premier League, Tottenham and Chelsea would likely be interested – both sides need a striker this summer. Continental clubs are also reportedly interested, including Juventus and Paris St-Germain.
Martial has a year left on his United contract, and the club have an option of another year. However, given the depth of United’s squad – and rumours Mourinho is looking to bring another forward in – the club could look to cash in. The deal to bring Martial to Old Trafford from Monaco was for an initial £38 million, with add-ins that could see it rise to £54 million, and United would look to at least recoup their investment and probably make a profit.
However, given Martial is still only 22 and has potential to improve, then clubs will likely be willing to pay.
