Juventus plan audacious swap deal for Manchester United star Paul Pogba

Italian champions Juventus are planning to offer Manchester United striker Paulo Dybala and left-back Alex Sandro in exchange for midfielder Paul Pogba, according to reports.

Pogba had a frustrating season at United last season, only hitting top form for part of the season. It is believed he now wants to quit the Red Devils – again – this summer.

It is also thought that manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is prepared to listen to offers for the French international as the rebuilds the side in his own image.

And Juventus could have a very tempting offer, according to the Sunday Express. The newspaper reports that Juventus are willing to offer Dybala and Alex Sandro in exchange for Pogba.

Juventus favour a player-plus-cash deal as they would struggle to meet United’s £120 million valuation of him in straight cash.

Dybala has been linked with United for quite some time. The Argentine was in and out of the Juve side last season as he struggled after the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Meanwhile Alex Sandro has been coveted by other Premier League clubs and has a reputation as one of the best left-backs in Europe.

United could be tempted by the deal as Dybala could be a direct replacement for Romelu Lukaku. Solskjaer is also said to be open to offers for the Belgian, who was in and out of the United side last season.

Manchester City consider bid for Juventus star Alex Sandro

Premier League champions Manchester City are weighing up a January move for Juventus left-back Alex Sandro, according to reports.

The Sun has said that City scouts watched Sandro play for Juventus against Manchester United in the Champions League earlier this week. He impressed as Juve kept a clean sheet in a 1-0 win in Group H.

The Brazilian has made 126 appearances for Juve, scoring 9 goals, and has won 3 successive Serie A titles with The Old Lady. He has also made 12 appearances for Brazil.

City only have Benjamin Mendy as a senior left-back at the club, and his recent injury record has not been great.

A deal could come about because Juve are reportedly interested in signing Real Madrid left-back Marcelo in January. Marcelo is apparently keen to link up with Cristiano Ronaldo again.

Should Sando be available, he would likely cost about £50 million.  Of course, this wouldn’t trouble City’s bosses, especially as the player is at the peak of his career.

However, there would doubtless be interest from other sides around Europe. Chelsea have previously been linked, as have Manchester United. Clubs such as Paris St-Germain may also be interested.

Juventus left-back Alex Sandro has agreed personal terms with Manchester United ahead of a proposed £53 million move, according to reports.

Brazilian Sandro – left out of the country’s World Cup squad – has been linked with United for some months, and it is known that manager Jose Mourinho has been looking for a new left-back this summer.

Chelsea have also been linked with a move for Sandro, but it appears the Red Devils are in pole position to sign him – it has also been reported by transfer expert Duncan Castles that he want to move to Old Trafford.

However, Juve have yet to agree on the deal and are holding out for £53 million for the 27-year-old. But, in the current transfer market, they may well get the price they want.

Should the move be completed, it will likely spell the end of Luke Shaw’s time at Old Trafford. He has had a fractious relationship with Mourinho and could welcome a chance to reboot his career. Everton, Chelsea and Newcastle are all rumoured to be interested in him.

Paul Pogba could be sold to help fund Manchester United’s summer squad overhaul

Midfielder Paul Pogba could be sold by Manchester United this summer to help fund Jose Mourinho’s plans to revamp his squad with major signings from European rivals.

Pogba, who cost a then world record £89 million when he signed for the club in 2016, has had a falling out with Mourinho this season – and suffered a dip in form – and it appears now he could be on his way out of the club altogether.

Mourinho is planning to make several acquisitions this summer, including defender Raphael Varane and midfielder Toni Kroos from Real Madrid, according to a report from the Sunday Mirror.

French international Varane would be an upgrade on his current centre-backs but could cost up to £70 million. Meanwhile German international Kroos could cost nearer to £100 million. Real Madrid are thought to be planning a similar squad overhaul this summer so could be prepared to sell to help finance that.

Mourinho also has his eye on Juventus’ Brazilian international Alex Sandro to fill his problem left-back position. Current incumbent Luke Shaw another player publicly criticised by Mourinho this season and thought likely to leave in the summer. Sandro could cost £45 million.

Should United decide to sell Pogba, there would be no shortage of potential buyers. The aforementioned Real Madrid could be a destination, as could Paris St-Germain – with the added bonus of a return to France for Pogba. The club where he made his name, Juventus, could also be interested in taking him back.

United would certainly look to make a profit on Pogba though. They paid £89 million for him in 2016 and would want more than that for a player coming into his peak years as a player and tied into a long-term contract. Given the current market, it would likely take a bid of at least £125 million to secure his services.

Chelsea target Alex Sandro says he wants to quit Juventus

Juventus left-back Alex Sandro has said he is unhappy at the club and wants to quit – which will be a boost to Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, who has a long-standing interest in the player.

Chelsea had attempted to sign Brazilian Sandro last summer, but weren’t prepared to pay Juve’s £80 million asking price. But with news he is unhappy in Turin, they could rekindle their interest, either in January or the summer.

It is reported that Sandro’s relationships with key staff at Juve have broken down, and he has endured a difficult season on the pitch so far.

If Chelsea do make a move, they could bag Sandro for as little as £50 million, as they may not be willing to keep an unhappy player at the club. However, whether Juve sell could depend on whether they can find an adequate replacement.

Conte has been searching for a left-back as Marcos Alonso is the only recognized one in the squad. The Blues have also been keeping tabs on Porto left-back Alex Telles recently – as have Juventus – and he could be an alternative should a move for Sandro not materialise.

Chelsea are also not the only club that would want to move for Sandro. Paris St-Germain and Premier League rivals Manchester City have also shown an interest – City especially since their first-choice left-back Benjamin Mendy suffered a serious injury earlier in the season.
