Tottenham Hotspur seeking loan deal for AC Milan striker Krzysztof Piatek

Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho wants a loan deal to bring AC Milan forward Krzysztof Piatek in to solve his striker crisis.

Mourinho has been looking for attacking signings since Harry Kane was ruled out for three months with a hamstring tear.

Piatek has been identified as a target who could be available given that he has fallen down the pecking order in Milan, especially since the arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic earlier this month.

The 24-year-old Polish international has scored just 4 goals in 19 outings for Stefano Piolo’s side this season. He scored 11 in 21 in 2018/19.

Goal has reported that a loan deal offer from Spurs for Piatek has been rejected. However, negotiations are said to be ongoing with Spurs considering another bid.

Other clubs are said to be interested in Piatek from around Europe. Manchester United have been mooted as a potential destination, but there has been little publicly said about it.

Spurs have also completed the signing of 22-year-old Dutch international Steven Bergwijn from PSV Eindhoven. The winger has joined in a £27 million deal.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic in talks over shock Everton move

Swedish superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic is reportedly in talks with Everton over a shock return to the Premier League.

Ibrahimovic, 38, is currently without a club, having left MLS side LA Galaxy after his contract expired in November.

It has previously been reported that he was close to agreeing a deal to rejoin Serie A side AC Milan, where he won the Scudetto in his first stint there from 2010-12. However, The Sun, and others, have reported that he could instead head to Merseyside.

It is thought that Carlo Ancelotti could be about to take over the hotseat at Everton, replacing Marco Silva who was sacked earlier in the month after a run of form that left them in the Premier League’s relegation zone. If Ancelotti does take over at Goodison Park, then it is thought that he wants Ibrahimovic to be his first signing.

Ancelotti was also thought to be interested in signing him at his previous club, Napoli. He managed Ibrahimovic for a season at Paris St-Germain in 2012-13, where he scored 35 goals as the side romped to the Ligue Un title.

It is well known that Everton need a figurehead up front to score goals – something they have lacked since Romelu Lukaku left for Manchester United more than two years ago.

It is thought Everton could offer a bigger wage packet than AC Milan could, although a return to Italy is still a big pull factor for Ibrahimovic. However, as everyone knows, Ibrahimovic does whatever he wants, so his next move cannot be predicted.

Manchester United could make sensational swoop for Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Manchester United are reportedly one contact with Swedish superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s representatives about a sensational return to Old Trafford.

Ibrahimovic spent two seasons in Manchester, scoring 29 goals despite a serious knee injury ruling him out for a large chunk of his second season.

He departed for LA Galaxy and the MLS in 2018 and has become a star in that league too – scoring 31 goals in as many games. However, his contract is up in January and it doesn’t look like he will be signing a new contract there.

Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb has claimed that United could turn to the 38-year-old as a short-term solution to the club’s lack of striking options.

United sold Romelu Lukaku and let Alexis Sanchez leave on a season-long loan – both went to Inter Milan – but weren’t replaced. This has left United light up front, especially when Anthony Martial was injured.

Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been linked with a bid for Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic in January, but a move for Ibrahimovic would no doubt be popular.

However, United are likely to face competition to sign the Swede. He has been linked with a move to AC Milan and Bologna in Italy recently and others would surely be interested in signing him.

But what Ibrahimovic does will be down to him – as is everything he does – and retirement has not been ruled out either.

Chelsea flop Tiemoue Bakayoko close to joining Monaco

Tiemoue Bakayoko’s Stamford Bridge nightmare could be coming to an end as he is close to joining his former club Monaco on a season-long loan.

At the end of the loan, the Ligue Un side will have the opportunity to sign him permanently for £31.8 million.

Chelsea signed Bakayoko for £40 million two years ago but he failed to impress at Stamford Bridge and quickly found himself on the sidelines. He spent last season on loan at AC Milan, who were not impressed enough to offer him a permanent deal.

Bakayoko, who has one cap for France, is looking to reboot his career with the promise of regular first team action.

The deal is expected to complete before the French transfer window shuts on September 2.

Manchester United and AC Milan to battle to sign Sporting Lisbon’s Bruno Fernandes this summer

Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes is attracting interest from Manchester United and AC Milan who are both lining up summer bids, according to reports.

Fernandes, 24, has been in sparkling form for Sporting this season, scoring 27 goals in 46 appearances in all competitions and providing 15 assists.

Portuguese news site A Bola has claimed that United representatives have already begun informal talks with Sporting over a transfer.

However, United will face strong competition for the Portugal international, with AC Milan thought to be safe interested. He spent several seasons in Serie A at Udinese and Sampdoria and could be tempted by a move back to Italy.

Sporting appear willing to do business with suitors – they have a history of selling if the price is right.

Fernandes has a release clause of £86 million, but interested clubs will be hoping to secure his signature for less than that.
