Shanghai SIPG offer world record €150 million for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

The ambitions of Chinese clubs seemingly know no limits now, with rumours coming out of Shanghai SIPG offering Borussia Dortmund an eye-popping €150 million for their star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Not only are they said to be offering Dortmund piles of cash – Aubameyang himself could be set to earn €788,000 per WEEK.

Blimey. Let that one sink in. Even Cristiano Ronaldo only earns about £350k per week. When you say ‘only £350k’ you know the football world is losing its grip on reality.

This rumour has come from Italian football journalist Tancredi Palmeri, who tweeted earlier: “BOOM! AUBAMEYANG HAS RECEIVED AN OFFER OF 41m€ PER YEAR FROM SHANGHAI, AND 150m€ FOR BORUSSIA DORTMUND, BOTH WOULD BEAT WORLD RECORDS!”

As Palmeri said, this bid – if true – equates to about £127 million, which would smash the current world record £89 million Manchester United paid Juventus for Paul Pogba back in summer 2016.

Nothing has come out to corroborate this story – yet – but given the recent £60 million transfer of Oscar and £40 million for Carlos Tevez, anything is possible. Watch this space.
