Ronaldo set to buy Spanish side Real Valladolid

Brazilian legend Ronaldo is set to buy La Liga side Real Valladolid for euro30 million, according to reports in Spain.

Marca has reported that Ronaldo is in talks with the club and set to become the majority shareholder. If the deal goes through, he will become president of the club.

Valladolid have been up for sale for some time, and were nearly bought by Mexican businessman Ernesto Tinajero, but the deal collapsed.

Valladolid were promoted to La Liga from Segunda B via the play-offs last season, ending a spell of four seasons in the second tier.

Ronaldo is currently has a minority share in the Fort Lauderdale Strikers of the North American Soccer League, as well as co-owning sports marketing company 9INE, with his friend, mixed martial artist Anderson Silva.
