Leicester City defender Harry Maguire is set to be the subject of a transfer battle between Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal this summer.

Maguire, 26, has been impressive again for the Foxes this season, building on his breakthrough international tournament last summer at the World Cup.

There was plenty of interest in signing him last summer, with Manchester United particularly keen, but no deal was made – largely as Leicester played hard-ball and refused to sell.

However, there is likely to be interest from top clubs again this summer. Manchester United are – still – looking for a central defender and Maguire would fit the bill.

Arsenal are another club that are seeking to plug a leaky defence, and Tottenham are also looking for reinforcements, especially if Toby Alderweireld leaves, as is expected.

Chelsea are also thought to be interested, but given their transfer ban was upheld this week, they are out of the running.

But it is likely to take a British record fee for a defender to secure Maguire’s services. A fee of £60 million has been reported and seems realistic and could get Leicester to sell.
