Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has targeted Juventus forward Paulo Dybala as a key transfer target as he begins to rebuild his side, according to reports.

United officials have already made contact with their counterparts at Juve about Dybala, 25, according to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.

Dybala has struggled to find his best form this season after the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo in Turin. He has scored just 10 goals in 39 games in all competitions and is currently on holiday leave from the club.

With this in mind, Juve may well be ready to sell – especially as they are expected to strengthen further this summer after being knocked out in the Champions League quarter-finals. A figure of £85 million has been quoted in reports, which is well within United’s spending power.

Solskjaer is planning a clear-out of United players this summer following their failure to secure Champions League football for next season. His striking options are under review with the futures of Alexis Sanchez, Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial in question.

Lukaku could be an option for Juventus, especially if Antonio Conte returns as manager – he tried to sign him for Chelsea during his tenure there.
