Eintracht Frankfurt star Luka Jovic has dropped a huge hint that he could join a Premier League club this summer.
The striker has impressed for the German side in the Bundesliga and Europa League this season. However, with Eintracht missing out on qualification for next season’s Champions League his is widely expected to depart for pastures new this summer.
Jovic, 21, has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid as part of manager Zinedine Zidane’s rebuilding of the side.
However, in an interview with German newspaper Die Welt, Jovic talked about how the physical style of the Premier League and Serie A would suit his game. Significantly, he didn’t mention La Liga as a potential destination.
The Serbian international has been linked with Chelsea in the past. However, given they are currently under a 2-window transfer ban, that avenue is unlikely to be pursued, unless the Court of Arbitration for Sport overturns the ruling.
If Chelsea are out of the running, there will be no shortage of Premier League rivals who would be interested. With suggestions Jovic could be available for £52 million, then clubs such as Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur would likely be interested in doing a deal. If that were the case, Jovic may be tempted to join City or Spurs, who can offer Champions League football next season.
