Italian giants Inter Milan believe they are close to agreeing a deal to sign Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku.
The Belgian has fallen out of favour under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who often left him on the bench. It is thought the club will let him go if they receive an acceptable offer.
While Lukaku has scored goals at United, his all-around play has been criticised.
New Inter manager Antonio Conte is looking for a striker to spearhead their Champions League campaign for next season, as well as trying to topple Juventus from their status as perennial Serie A champions, and believes Lukaku is the man to do it.
Conte tried to sign Lukaku while he was Chelsea manager, and his admiration for the Belgian international hasn’t diminished.
Manchester United will want to recoup most of not all of the £75 million they paid Everton for Lukaku in 2017, although there is speculation that an offer of £55 million could be enough to secure his services.
