Manchester United, Liverpool and Real Madrid chase Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho

A host of top European clubs including Liverpool, Real Madrid and Paris St-Germain, as well as Manchester United, are leading the hunt to sign Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho this summer.

Sancho, 19, has enjoyed another stellar season in the Bundesliga, scoring 14 goals and providing 14 assists in just 22 matches.

Inevitably, this has led to transfer speculation about him. While Sancho has publicly said he is happy in Dortmund, the club has form for selling its stars for huge profits and Sancho could well sell for more than £100 million.

Manchester United have long been linked to a player who started out at rivals City. Boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a fan and would fit with the club’s strategy of buying players before they hit their peak years.

Meanwhile runaway Premier League leaders Liverpool will be looking to strengthen their side, particularly if rumours that clubs are interested in signing Sadio Mane are true – there is also speculation that the player isn’t entirely happy on Merseyside.

Real Madrid are inevitably linked too as Zinedine Zidane continues his revamp of the ageing squad. Sancho would fit into Madrid’s model and could even be a replacement for Gareth Bale, who may finally exit the Bernabeu this summer.

Should all these clubs follow up their interest, then that £100 million figure could well escalate.

Manchester United line up summer bid for Fiorentina star Federico Chiesa

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly sent scouts to watch Fiorentina winger Federico Chiesa with a view to making a bid for the player in the summer.

It is understood that a Manchester United representative was watching as Fiorentina drew 1-1 with AC Milan last weekend.

Chiesa, 22, has scored 7 goals and made 5 assists in 25 appearances for La Viola this season. The winger – son of 90s star Enrico – has also become a fixture in the Italian National side and has 17 caps to his name.

He can play anywhere across the front three but prefers to play on the right, a position Solskjaer is known to want to strengthen. At 22, Chiesa also fits into United’s plan to buy young players who can be developed.

However, Chiesa – who has scored 21 goals in 121 appearances for Fiorentina – will not come cheap. He is contracted to the Florence-based club until 2022 and a figure of £60 million has been touted.

Other clubs are also interested: perennial Italian champions Juventus are keeping tabs on him, and others around Europe will be watching should any club make a bid.
