Manchester United and Real Madrid set for battle for Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho

European giants Manchester United and Real Madrid are set for a battle to sign £100 million-rates Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho this summer.

Sancho has established himself as one of the most promising talents in Europe this season, scoring 11 goals and providing 13 assists for Dortmund in the Bundesliga this season. In addition, the 19-year-old has broken into Gareth Southgate’s England side.

United have been linked with Sancho for some time and have been thought to be lining up a bid for when the transfer window reopens.

However, now Real are also interested in Sancho, according to the Independent. Manager Zinedine Zidane is widely expected to conduct a major rebuild of Los Blancos squad this season after a mediocre – by their standards – season.

Neither side would baulk at paying out £100 million, but with both sides interested it could result in a bidding war – which would no doubt please Dortmund bosses, who are known for selling if the price is right.

It is not thought likely that Sancho’s former club, Manchester City, would come in for him.

You may have missed it, but there is another Premier League match tonight and it is also of great importance to the Champions League race.

Arsenal travel north to face Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux. The Gunners will be going all out for a win to reclaim a place in the top four and one of the all-important Champions League slots. Wolves won’t be taking things easy either, as they are still in with a shout of finishing 7th, which could secure a Europa League place for next season.

The match kicks off at 7.45pm, but it isn’t carried on TV in the UK. Here are the factz you need to know:

  • Arsenal grabbed an 86th minute equaliser in a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture.
  • Wolves haven’t beaten Arsenal in the league since 1979 – a run of 16 matches.
  • Wolves aren’t in great form either – they’ve won just two of their last 9 PL matches, losing 4.
  • The Gunners are in better form – they’ve won 6 of their last 10 PL matches, losing 3.
  • However, Wolves are good at home – they’ve won 7 of their last 9 matches in all competitions at Molineux. Meanwhile, Arsenal have kept just one clean sheet away from home in the league.

Manchester derbies are always hotly anticipated fixtures but few have had this much pre-match hype.

City are two points behind Liverpool with a game in hand. They know that if they win this match the destination of the Premier League title is in their hands.

However, United will be desperate to stop their city rivals from winning – even if it enhances the title ambitions of their other great rivals, Liverpool. Of course, they need a win to keep up their hopes of qualifying for next season’s Champions League.

It is set up to be an epic clash. The match kicks off at 8pm and it is live on Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Sports Main Event. Here are the factz you need to know:

* City won the reverse fixture at the Etihad Stadium back in November 3-1 with goals from David Silva, Sergio Aguero and Ilkay Gundogan.
* The past 10 meetings between the sides have been evenly split with 4 wins for each side and two draws.
* United are out of form, having lost 6 of their last 8 matches in all competitions.
* The Red Devils have also not kept a clean sheet for 11 matches – their worst run in 21 years.
* Meanwhile City have won their last 10 PL matches in succession.
* If Sergio Aguero scores, he will become the second man to score at least 20 goals in 6 Premier League seasons. The only other player to do that is Alan Shearer, who achieved the feat on 7 occasions.
* United have conceded 48 league goals – their worst season defensively since 1978/9.
* City have scored 155 goals this season in all competitions – one tonight would equal their record for a season, set in 2013/14.
