New Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers plans £40 million raid for Bournemouth star Callum Wilson

AFC Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson has emerged as an early summer transfer target for new Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers, according to reports.

Rodgers, who took over at the King Power Stadium earlier this week, is said to already be planning to revamp the Foxes squad during the summer and England striker Wilson is at the top of his wish list, The Sun has reported.

Wilson has scored 10 goals in 21 Premier League appearances this season for the Cherries and has also made his England debut.

There was interest in the striker from Chelsea and West Ham United during last month’s transfer window, but no deal was done. Wilson is currently on the sidelines following a knee operation.

However, Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe will not want to lose one of his key players, and the club do not have to sell. But a bid of £40 million could be enough to tempt them into cashing in.

Lille admit Arsenal target Nicolas Pepe can leave – at the right price

Lille forward Nicolas Pepe – a long-term target for Arsenal – could leave the club this summer, but only if the club receive an offer of £50 million for him, according to the club’s sporting director.

Pepe has been a star in Ligue Un this season, scoring 17 goals in 28 appearances.

Arsenal have been tracking the Ivory Coast International for some time. However, financial constraints meant the Gunners couldn’t bid for him in January. But in the summer it is expected boss Unai Emery will have funds to spend.

Lille’s sporting director Luis Campos has now admitted that an offer of about £50 million would be hard to turn down.

Speaking to French TV station Telefoot, Campos said: “We are not a rich club – it means that if a really good proposal comes in for Pepe, we have to sell him.”

However, Arsenal will face strong competition for Pepe, with Manchester United and Barcelona among the other clubs said to be interested.

It is thought that if he is sold, it would be to a side in the Champions League. Arsenal are currently in a battle for 4th place – and the final Champions League spot – in the Premier League. Whether they make it into Europe’s top tournament could have a large bearing on their attractiveness to Pepe.
