AC Milan line up move for Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas
Italian side AC Milan are lining up a move for Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas, it has been reported.
Fabregas, 31, has lost his regular starting place in the Chelsea side this season to new signing Jorginho.
The Spaniard is not happy with the situation – he wants more game time – but it appears Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri sees him as back-up.
With Fabregas entering the last year of his current deal at Chelsea, it is thought they want to offer him a new contract. However, the player is said to be looking at his options, including a move in order to get more game time.
Italian news outlet Calciomercato has said that AC Milan are interested in signing Fabregas and, while they could wait until the summer and get him on a free, could move for him in January. While they would have to pay a fee, it wouldn’t be near the former Arsenal player’s market value.
Fabregas is seen as a signing that would strengthen Milan’s centre midfield, although no formal contact has yet been made with him.
Other clubs would likely be interested in signing him, such as former club Arsenal, as well teams in his native Spain.
Juventus, Manchester United and others on alert as Aaron Ramsey contract talks break down
Top clubs including Juventus and Manchester United are closely tracking Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey after it has emerged negotiations between him and the club over a new contract have broken down.
Ramsey is in the final year of his current deal at The Emirates and he and the club had been negotiating a new contract, but now it seems that the offer has been withdrawn, according to The Mirror.
It had been thought Ramsey would sign a new deal – and that he was keen to do so – but, for reasons that are unclear, talks have broken down to such an extent that there is now no offer on the table. It is not thought that Ramsey turned the deal down, The Mirror added.
This means that Ramsey would be free to leave Arsenal in the summer, and sign a pre-contract deal in January.
There are likely to be no shortage of suitors for the player who, at 27, is at the peak of his career. The Gunners reportedly turned down an offer of £50 million for him last summer.
Italian champions Juventus are thought to be interested in signing the Wales international, as are Manchester United, Chelsea and Lazio. The promise of playing Champions League football again would be enticing for Ramsey too.
Ramsey has been integral to Arsenal in recent seasons and it would not be popular among fans if he is allowed to walk away from the club on a free.
Arsenal and Inter Milan in race to sign one of Europe’s hottest prospects
Arsenal and Inter Milan are set to do battle to sign Rennes winger Ismaila Sarr – rates as one of the best young players in Europe.
Sarr, 20, went to the World Cup with Senegal last summer and is on the shortlist for the Golden Boy for top European prospects. He has also been compared to Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele.
The player, who scored a wonder goal recently in the Europa League, is valued at about £20 million. However, bosses at Rennes have insisted that he won’t be sold in January.
