Manchester City want Alexis Sanchez in January – but Arsenal refuse to drop £30 million price

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is still keen on signing Alexis Sanchez in the January transfer window but Arsenal’s asking price may prove a stumbling block.

Arsenal are refusing to budge on their £30 million valuation of Sanchez, even though he’ll only have 6 months left on his contract and could leave for nothing in the summer.

It is thought City are willing to pay £20 million for the 28-year-old Chilean international.

Arsenal are also reluctant to let one of their star players move to a Premier League rival, although they have accepted that Sanchez wants to leave the club.

City tried to sign Sanchez in the summer but a deal couldn’t be agreed. However, the club feel that they may get their man – who Guardiola rates very highly – in January as the Gunners could seek to make some cash for one of their stars.

It could come down to who blinks first on the matter of price. This saga could go right to the end of the window.
