Arsenal eyeing up PSV Eindhoven winger to replace Alexis Sanchez in January

Arsenal are looking to sign PSV Eindhoven winger Hirving Lozano in the January transfer window as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez, who seems increasingly likely to leave the club.

Lozano has caught the eye this season having already scored 9 goals in the Eredivisie, having only joined the club in the summer from Pachuca for £7.04 million.

However, the 22-year-old, who already has 20 caps for Mexico, is likely to cost £30 million, as PSV’s bosses will be unlikely to allow one of their rising stars to leave for less than the release clause, according to a report by Football.London.

Lozano has previously been watched by Arsenal scouts, and is thought to also be on Manchester United’s radar. But if he keeps his early season form up, other clubs around Europe are likely to be interested in signing him.

Sanchez is known to want to leave Arsenal, with Manchester City thought a likely destination. A cut-price move could happen in January as the Gunners would like to get some money for the player, rather than see him move for nothing once his contract expires in June.

A bookmaker has released its odds on one of Cristiano Ronaldo’s children playing for Real Madrid or Manchester United – and they are low.

Ronaldo became a star at Manchester United, and has since gone on to win a multitude of titles and awards at Real Madrid. Now father to three children, bookmakers are offering odds on one of them playing for either of the two sides. William Hill have given odds of 100/1 on it happening, according to a report in the Daily Mirror.

But perhaps the odds aren’t so surprising. Ronaldo Jr may only be 7 years old, but he is already showing signs he may be a chip off the old block, having already been filmed scoring free kicks and long-range screamers for his kid’s team.

It remains to been seem if Ronaldo’s baby twins exhibit similar signs – they can’t even walk yet.

England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland ask FIFA permission to wear poppies

The Home Nations are to ask FIFA for permission to wear poppies during the international matches to be held in November.

Last year, England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland were all fined by football’s governing body for wearing poppies during games as it contravened FIFA’s rules on the wearing of political symbols.

However, FIFA has since changed the law on this, and teams can wear a poppy if the opposing team and the competition organiser agree to it.

All 4 Home Nations are in action in the days leading up to Remembrance Day. Northern Ireland play Switzerland in the first leg of their play-off for qualification for the 2018 World Cup. Meanwhile England, Scotland and Wales play friendlies against Germany, Netherlands and France respectively. All matches come under FIFA’s jurisdiction.

In a joint statement, the nations said they plan to wear poppies to “remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice during the First and Second World Wars.

“In any year when there are international matches in the week leading up to and including Remembrance Sunday, it is the intention of all four home nations to seek permission from the opposition team and FIFA to display the poppy on armbands,” the statement added.
